Beaches in Lanzarote
These are some of our favorite beaches on the island of Lanzarote. They are all overwhelming spots to enjoy a peaceful day under the sun, with the strong smell of the sea salt, and the stricking contrast of colors under the clear light of Lanzarote. Depending on the wind, some are just amazing for surfing or kitesurfing, such as Famara. Some are marvelous to just relax and feel the slow tempo of the island. The Tinajo coast is considered one of the best areas in Europe for surfing. The famous la Santa waves draw every year world class surfing. So here you have a terrific opportunity to enjoy the world’s best surf in Tinajo.
You can also find amazing beaches in the small island of la Graciosa as well. All worth visiting for sure. It is a great plan to take an early 25 minutes ferry from Orzola, at the very north, and spend the day in the tiny but beautiful la Graciosa. Take a nice bocadillo, some beers and just walk to the beaches nearby. You may find the timetables and prices at Ferry Romero, Biosfera Express.
There are many family oriented beaches on Lanzarote, but nudist friendly beaches are not usually far away. Papagayo, Guasimeta, Charco del Palo, and many smaller beaches, just a short walk from towns and resorts.
As a note of advice, just beware of the currents as you should not forget we are in the Atlantic Ocean. Thus a good recommendation to follow would be to take a nice bath always were you can easily touch the sand with your feet standing. If you go to a beach with lifeguards, such as Famara for instance, take advantage of that and enjoy a near by area. Do not forget the sun protection, even during cloudy days.
